New Season of Biotech Podcast Builds Trust in Science
I AM BIO Podcast’s Spring 2022 Season Explores Water Conservation, Vaccine Technology, Alzheimer’s, and Addiction
Washington, D.C.– The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) today premieres its new season of the I AM BIO podcast, which tells powerful stories across the biotechnology industry and how it heals, fuels, and feeds our world.
The season launches with an episode on water conservation, “Water Stress: Can We Avert a Looming Crisis?”, that focuses on technologies that address contaminants, overuse, and plastics.
“Right now, biotechnology breakthroughs are saving lives and our planet, and the I AM BIO podcast brings these powerful stories to life,” said BIO’s President and CEO Dr. Michelle McMurry-Heath, a physician-scientist and host of the I AM BIO podcast. “By sharing our industry’s amazing innovations – which address everything from climate change to Alzheimer’s and addiction – we can build greater public awareness of and trust in science.”
Additional episodes will cover:
- How vaccines of all types helped bring us out of the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing potential of mRNA technology to treat and prevent diseases including cancer and other infectious diseases.
- What makes carbon dioxide so dangerous and creative solutions to curb its impact.
- Why Alzheimer’s is tricky to address and research in the pipeline.
- Groundbreaking treatments to save people from overdosing and, ultimately, the disease of addiction.
Guests on the I AM BIO podcast are experts on the topics discussed and use data to explain the science in clear, engaging narratives. The new season will run for a total of 12 episodes – six this spring and six more beginning in September.
PR Daily recently named the I AM BIO podcast a finalist for its Social Media & Digital Awards in the podcast category.
