The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) today released the following statement on the administration’s proposal on the Renewable Fuel Standard. The following statement may be attributed to Stephanie Batchelor, vice president of BIO's industrial & environmental section:
"This proposal provides much-needed certainty to the Renewable Fuel Standard – a policy that biofuel producers rely on to drive investment in low carbon energy solutions that will address climate challenges, enhance energy security and support rural economies.
“BIO appreciates the tireless work of Senator Tammy Duckworth, Senator Joni Ernst, Senator Chuck Grassley, Senator Amy Klobuchar and the Congressional Biofuels Caucus in ensuring the administration understands the importance of a stable renewable fuel policy.
“We look forward to commenting on the proposal and will continue to engage with the EPA to advance policies that support sustainable fuels so that we can grow our economy and safeguard our planet.”
